A visit from the Fairy Hobmother

Sometimes it pays to make a wish. Many moons ago, I made a wish on someone else's site. They had been visited by someone known as the Fairy Hobmother, a wandering soul with nothing but good intentions. By day, he sells cookers and other stuffs (in the land of Appliances Online), but by night, he visits peoples blogs and gives them gifts. I got an Amazon voucher (cos I am bit rubbish at cooking) but leave a comment, wishing for some stuff, and you never know, you might get a visit from the Fairy Hobmother too

I haven't made a wish for a while (apart from peace and quiet with my crazy 4 and 6 year old sons around)

I would wish for sushi since it's my favourite food.

I would wish for sunshine

I would wish for a little time just for myself to be calm and quiet and not Mummy always...

Not sure anyone can grant the latter two!

You lucky thing, did you buy anything good with it? I wish I could have a Thermomix - it looks absolutely amazing. Failing that, I wish I could have a pizzelle maker!

Pretty please with sugar on top Fairy Hobmother can you grant me the wish of an authentic indian cookery book as I would love to learn how to make proper Indian dishes that you would actually find in India, that would be lovely!

Dearest Fairy Hobmother,

Despite the picture above, I believe you are a truly beautiful being inside and can help me in my hour of need.

I have a wonderful red KitchenAid stand mixer that I call Bertie Branning and he's feeling woefully under-dressed.

He'd really like a glass bowl attachment to show how beautiful *he* is inside, and a meat grinder attachment so his owner (ie me) can make burgers and sausages with no nasty stuff added.

Thank you,
MiMi x

I wish I had a Big Green Egg. Or maybe Cabela's stainless steel grill/smoker jobbie. Because obviously I need more than one barbecue!

If the fairy hobmother chooses to wave his wand this way then I would love a deep fat fryer.

I think I should definitely get a visit from the fairy hobmother because my oven is SHITE. Whenever I cook something I have to open the door and turn it around half way through. It also has no numbers on it any more so I don't know how hot it is, or which oven setting it is on. The buttons have melted on the front and the ignition button on the hob on top regularly gives me electric shocks. Not kidding. PLEASE FAIRY HOBMOTHER PLEASE!

Argh, I'd love love love a blender. Making a crumble or scones at this point makes my fingers ache with all this rubbing of butter into flour into butter.

So that's what I wish for!!

I wish for a blender! Always wanted one for making smoothies and whatnot.

But isn't it rather selfish to be wishing for something individualistic and self-centred? In that case I wish for world peace!

Dear Fairy Hobmother, I can't cook either and what I really want is my job in Wales to end asap so that I can return to London... I have my doubt though your powers are reaching that far...

Ohh, how lovely this Fairy Hobmother sounds!

What I've been mostly wishing for lately (cooking-wise) is an ice-cream maker. You know, just a little one, nothing too fancy. Then I'll be making rhubarb ice creams all summer.

LOL! The photo above cracked me up. Is that what he really looks like. Oh my!

And how fun!

The Fairy Hobmother sounds like a dream come true!

I really wish she/he could bring New Mexico some rain, though
It hasn't rained in a year and we're so dry and the fires are burning all over the state.
We are all doing our Rain Dances, but nothing's working.
Please Fairy Hobmother....a little rain, please?

But if I have to choose an appliance, I'd go for something to mix up the tastiest Margaritas ever! With this 100 degree heat and no rain...ice cold margaritas sure would hit the spot!

This sounds too good to be true! Always worth a go though, i've only recently moved into my own flat and have very little kitchenware of my own. Still trying to bake and cook with the appliances I have but a Kenwood chef would make all my dreams come true!! Unlikely that I will be able to afford my own any time soon so here's hoping my wish comes true! Thank you x

What a lovely idea!

If the Fairy HobMother was so kind - a Sous Vide for my partner would be a wonderful gift - even a second hand one or shop-soiled one!

Or maybe loan of a Pizzelle maker for a day for me, as I was inspired by the stroopwafel on 'Lay the Table' blog.

Thank you for making me smile reading the comments!!

Kind regards
M
